I was going to write “what’s new pussycat?” in the title – but I can’t, as a) I don’t like cats and b) I own a dog so it feels disloyal. Anyway. On with the show.
It’s February 2019. The third of February. Where are we at?
– E has turned 12 today and had a great time taking more strides with his independence.
– It’s my Dad’s birthday tomorrow. How do we mark this day as being special without feeling like we’re being a bit drama llama? I will write something about how we marked the first anniversary of my dad dying another day.
– Our house, which we had sold, was suddenly unsold in January. We went from the buyer asking us to go into a rental property to push the deal through, to a phone call from our estate agent telling us to keep calm – all in the space of three day! We had to get it back on the market and thankfully, we have now sold to the person who through a sad twist of fate, didn’t get the house first time around but did this time around. It feels like it’s the right thing now – for the buyer and for us, so I’m hopeful that all goes through smoothly.
– I have decided that whilst I love my Husband, I don’t love working with him. And with that in mind, I’ve gone and gotten myself a full time gig. The only thing is, it means I’ll be leaving Airport Lynx, where I’ve been part time for five years. I’m sad about that but am totally up for the new job – it’s Psychology and marketing. I can’t believe my luck. It’s an incredible job and I can’t wait to get going. Mind you, I’m in that weird place of being excited and nervous all at the same time. I’m distracting myself by reverting to my favourite workwear clothing providers – Boden and Hobbs. I’ve bought smart suit trousers and twinsets from the former’s workwear range and am about to commit to a pair of not quite shoes, not quite trainers from the latter – they’re silver leather and will, I hope, help me avoid looking too middle aged Mum. What do you think to them?
I can’t think of all the other things I wanted to write about. Ah. Yes. Of course. Scout. Good grief. This dog will be the end of me. I have not had a night of unbroken sleep since he joined us in July…. But the thing is. He’s cute. So, so cute. And making all of us very happy when he’s not eating us or our socks. Want to see a cute photo?
I adore him. But I’m grateful that Lovely Bloke will be walking him over the coming months, when the weather is truly awful and he becomes even more of a mud magnet – it takes longer to clean and dry him than it does to walk him at the moment….
