EF Students in Cambridge – our hall of fame…

12th April 2020 CambridgeMummy Leave a Comment

We’re really missing the fun of having our EF Students here with us in Cambridge. So I thought it would be good to make a hall of fame for the students who’ve lived with us over the last year. They’re not going to be in order of arrival / leaving – I’m going to find them and embed them here from my instagram account…

And now @staceycc7 is safely home in Peru! We will miss her smile, her energy and her enthusiasm for trying out new English words. We hope everyone at home enjoys all things she’s bought whilst with us – she’s definitely contributed to the UK economy! She left at 3am so I could hardly open my eyes for the photos! @efcambridge #efcambridge #homestay

After dinner fun with our EF students. We play @mrlistergame to encourage conversations but there’s also lots of laughing at the sillier answers!! @nienkevdkroon @ninonjlt and Stacey, against @e11i0tt_3 and @toondeleenheer and William… #mrlister #efcambridge @efcambridge

Now that @silvafranciscab is safely home, we can share the photos of our final morning together. We all cried at different points and it was hard to wave her off but we wouldn’t change a thing about our time with Fran. She’s a beautiful human and we loved her being part of the family. A kind soul, full of energy and life, we can’t wait to hear of her next adventures and how she settles back into life at home. We love you Fran xxxx and a x from Scout #efcambridge @efcambridge

Another reason why we share our home with international students: they are the big sisters you don’t usually have! @nienkevdkroon and @silvafranciscab tease, ruffle hair and help you avoid your Mum when you’re in trouble! Proper sisters. We love having them with us. @efcambridge @ef #homestay #internationalstudents

There’s an unexpected arrival in the bagging area! @sebastian.vilca.porras has arrived at our house so we are making him cheese on toast and chocolate mousse for lunch whilst @efcambridge re route him. We’re having fun and talking about all things Peruvian.

Erin leaves us today so we did the Christmas decorations early in her honour! It’s always interesting to see how the students and our boys settle in together. The longer they stay the more messing about there is and the more it feels like having a big sister about. Especially when they use your ears as a place to hang decorations from! @efcambridge @ef @efambassador #familylife #christmas19 #christmasdecorations

Halloween 2019. And to think that I was worried about whether we’d manage to get through 160 bags of sweets!!! Have had to take the pumpkins and decorations down. But the highlight has to be having Deadpool and Halo at our door. Dad was proud to tell me that they are proper Comicon kit – and was thrilled when I knew what it was! #MakingMemories #halloween2019

Lovely Liv is going home today. We’ve had so much fun with her in the last two weeks. We sent photos to her parents of her and Scout as she wanted to take him home with her… I don’t think her Mum was as keen as she was! Nien and Fran have gone to Brighton on the 7am bus and Belen is in London for the weekend as she has family visiting! It’s a quiet weekend here – aside from the King Fu, Swimming and Football fixtures. And friends visiting this afternoon. The last bit is actually rather special. Am looking forward to that..: #weekend #ef #efcambridge @efcambridge

Of all the students we’ve met this summer, we will truly miss @summer_emmca when she leaves tomorrow. She has pillow fights with William, sporting playoffs with Elliott and chases Scout around with as much energy he has. Every time our students leave the house I remind them to check for their phones, bus pass, money and keys. And most importantly, to have a fabulous time and adventures. Our home will be very quiet and empty come midday tomorrow :((

We’ve had so much fun hosting @efcambridge students this summer – we are going to miss them all. They’ve helped us learn new words, try new foods and shown us an entirely new way to look at our beautiful city. Who knows what the next group will bring? #ef #efcambridge #efcambridge2019
