Today’s the day!

27th July 2015 CambridgeMummy Leave a Comment

So, today’s the day!!! We get to borrow a Mondeo 2015 from Ford. They’ve not asked me to write about it – the Mondeo is what we’re using to get us to Car Fest North – they want to know what we think to the CMax we’ll be testing next weekend at #FordAtCarFest North itself – and I’ll do that, promise. We’re taking this road test incredibly seriously in our house as we’re in the market for a new car and want to see what’s changed since we last bought one several years ago….

But right now, I wanted to write about the fact that I just discovered that the roof of our Mondeo could be panoramic. This means it’s not a sunroof but a huge patch of glass (security thingy me bobbed) so that you can see the sky as you’re driving. I really hope that our car comes with that because I think it could be a huge help for our troops who are starting to show signs of being travel sick. It’s not good for us or them to have this starting so I reckon that if we do get it, it could be helpful to making them feel less travel sick. The other thing I am hoping for, is that our car will have the USB ports in it – it doesn’t look like they come very far back in the arm console though, so I’m not sure how they would charge iPads in the back for the boys whilst we are on the road and/or where the cables can connect through – it’s definitely something that I’m looking out for though, as it’s only going to be more important going forwards with our two.

The other thing I’m thinking about is whether there’s just too many buttons and whistles on the console. I’ve been looking and I can see that it resembles a flight deck. Tech is great. I’m all about the tech. Maybe I’ll just want to try it all out. Maybe I’ll not notice it. But there seems to be a lot of buttons and knobs to fiddle with. So long as there’s a way for my to synch my specially put together Spotify playlist with it, I don’t mind.

Actually, I wonder if someone is going to show me how to use it all when it’s dropped off? Or whether I have to go through the books and watch something on YouTube to figure it all out? I don’t know. We’ll see.

This makes me think of something my very good friend said this week. When asked “When will our friends arrive?” she said “When they get here” so instead of going over much more “Will it have….” in my mind, I’m just going to see what there is when it gets here!
