Yesterday night, something happened for me that I want to share. But I don’t know quite how to explain it without you thinking that I’ve lost my marbles.
Context – I was on a work do, with Airport Lynx – they’re a chauffeur company we’ve been working with for a couple of years, doing Marketing and PR.
I’ll set the scene – I’m stood there at the table, about to play heads and tails – the game where you choose if you’re going for heads or tails and someone flicks a coin for the whole room to either continue standing, or sit down, depending on whether the coin is heads or tails.
And then there’s what happens – it’s heads, three times. Then tails, then heads again. By this point, two thirds of the room have been eliminated and there’s just ten of us left. We’re all taken up to the stage, and have to choose again, each time, as to whether we want to be heads or tails. In a flash we’re down to me and one other person. And it just felt good, so good, I felt like I was on a one way track – to winning!
I said as I stood up to start the game, that I would be winning it. Everyone was laughing and it was funny, because I really felt, inside me, that I was going to win it, right from the start. Here’s a photo of the moment that I chose heads and the other finalist chose tails – and I won a magnum of Bollinger.
Now I know you might find this a bit strange, but I totally knew it was coming – my winning this. Why? How? Because I’d been working on a really positive mindset, of Airport Lynx winning last night – funnily enough, I didn’t do my positive thinking around Airport Lynx winning awards – or winning Gold in each category they were shortlisted in – just on winning. And as soon as I realised that I was going to win the game, I panicked, because I realised that I’d not done as specific as possible a request to the Universe for two Gold awards that night. Thankfully, we did win two awards – both Bronze. But it taught me something really valuable – that I do need to ask the Universe for what I want as specifically as possible.
Now if you’re still reading, and you’ve not judged me to be utterly woo woo and away in a world of my own, I want to gift something to you – a free sample chapter of Denise Duffield Thomas’s book – “Get Rich, Lucky Bitch“. I’m so proud of the changes that have come about in my life since I first read this book and then, almost a year later, signed up to Denise’s Lucky Bitch Money Bootcamp – the outcomes are amazing. And the majority are not financially orientated.
A year ago, I wasn’t having my fingernails painted, taking charge of the clothes I wore, the skincare routine I used on my face, my weight or making a conscious effort to do more home cooking for my family to give them the very best start that I could. Mind you, it’s likely that I hadn’t created enough time or space in my life to get aware of those things like I am now. Now, I’m doing all of those things and more – I’m choosing who I want to work with, what work I want to do and making myself available to work with others on terms that fit for me and my boys. And yes, I put it all down to Denise Duffield Thomas and her Lucky Bitch – or Lucky Bee – community.
I know this is too woo woo for lots of people – it took me a year to buy into this. I wish it hadn’t. But it did. And now, I’m so happy with my choice to join the community – it’s a great place to be, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me in the run up to Christmas! Seriously, go, have a look at Denise Duffield Thomas online and see what you could with your life – winning magnums of Bollinger as a by product on the way to winning national awards is not bad, is it???? !!!!
*Note: All these links are affiliate – and I’m really proud of that – I’m busting to share Denise’s work with women everywhere because I want them to have the opportunities that are coming my way these days…..*
