I am happy. It might be just for tonight. But hey, I’m happy. I want to make the most of our half term together – whilst also juggling everything Hope House Press related. Saturday started out well – we started to make a solar system and put together a car which came with entirely inadequate instructions. We lasted about 90 minutes, before we all wept tears of frustration and abandoned them. We’re going to get back to it this week – or they will be binned. Why? Because we have a collection of similarly started and not even half way through projects loitering around the house.
Yesterday we went to London and specifically Spitalfields market, for a family day out. We had lunch at the Grocers – pic below – and I can totally recommend the Sunday lunch. It was beautiful.
We were really disappointed with Spitalfields overall though – so many of the traders have gone. It’s now shops – many of which are chains and the individual traders are now housed in metal boxes and in another place, wooden box framed spaces. It felt so different, shrunk and truthfully, gentrified. It’s geared up for tourists which really frustrated me. Anyway, that was yesterday.
Today we got a picnic from the Blessed Waitrose and the boys went to Grandma’s for lunch – and to watch TV without me or Daddy telling them to turn the TV off and get outside. A smart move on their part as the sunshine meant we would have definitely removed all TV and tech!
So, so far we are making the most of half term. I don’t know what the weather is going to bring us, and that will of course influence things, but fingers crossed, we can make the most of our time together. They are growing so quickly, I want to treasure all we have with our brilliant, interesting, funny and talented boys. They are fab and I love them more every day, which I didn’t think could be possible…..
