Shoes for children – my latest thing that I’m over analysing this weekend. How many pairs of shoes do children need?
We have:
school shoes
wellies that stay at school
PE plimsols
wellies for use at home
trainers
football boots (for football and rugby)
slippers (that never get worn)
Crocs
So do we *need* pair of boots for them for winter? Every other year, they’ve had a pair of boots that were worn for pre school and at home – they didn’t really have need for trainers. But now I’m thinking we shouldn’t have them in trainers or wellies all winter long? But if they are only going to wear them on the weekends, do we really need them? I can’t work this out. And Lovely Bloke being who he is and me being who I am, we’ll get them a really good pair of boots each because we both appreciate comfy shoes.
So, shoes for children – what do you think? Do you buy a pair of boots for the winter? Or just have them in wellies or trainers?
PS. If you want to see me ramble on about exciting topics like this, which genuinely as things that I debate in my head, you can follow me on twitter @TheLizWeston <subtle, aren’t I?>
PPS. This is not a sponsored post in any way – I really do think about this kind of thing and Lovely Bloke is not too keen on hearing me ramble on about it any more than I already have…..
PPPS. I have also been wondering about the whole hand me down shoes thing – we do hand me down wellies and we did hand me down shoes when the boys were small and growing out of their shoes every 6 weeks, but now, they are getting trashed so we don’t get to do it. But would it be ok to buy boots second hand? Would you? Do you? Is it bad for their feet? Shoes for children – who’d have thought I would be able to write so many ps’s about it????
