Amazing. This is the word of the day. No really. We’ve been a lucky family over the years – treated to all sorts of hospitality and treats and unique experiences. But this really does take the biscuit – the hob nob biscuit itself. As Peter Kay would say, continuing the hob nob theme, it was a case of “again, dunk me again” !!!! We’ve been testing out a new Ford Mondeo this week and I’ll write about that in detail in a separate post. I want to save this post for being all about today – the actual #FordAtCarFest day itself….
We borrowed a Ford S Max (more on that again, in a separate post) and arrived at Car Fest for 10am. After parking in the Exhibitor parking, we sauntered into Car Fest itself – enjoying the benefits of our VIP wristbands to walk straight through! The boys had a go on a trampoline and then I decided that I didn’t like the look of the clouds so I bought a couple of poncho’s for ‘just in case’. Within 5 minutes, they were needed and people flooded into the Craft Tent – pretending to be interested in scarves and hand painted door signs whilst rummaging around for their pac a macs… Once the storm let up, everyone rushed back out and got on with their day….
We wandered about for a while, working out where we were and then went to the Paddock – using our wristbands, we could go into the special enclosure and see the cars – So Many Cars. ALL The Cars !!!!! It was very exciting. Did you know for example, that Chris Evans’s Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car has a Ford engine? Lovely Bloke got uber excited when he saw an AC Cobra and a Ferrari 725. He came over all funny and his voice went up an octave!!
Arrrggghhhh!! I’ve just realised that my laptop charger is in the car, so I’m going to have to post this, as initial thoughts of the day, without photos or writing about the Paul Swift Stunts experience!!!
Hang on, I can just about get this in…
