Our younger dude will be nine next month. He’s asked for surprises for presents – but something for the play station would be good. We do parties on alternate years, so he’s asked to go to either the swimming pool’s obstacle course and take friends or something coding related. I’m considering the coding angle as I met someone who does escape rooms for adults and/or children recently and it could be good.
The only two things that I’m not sure on now, are what to do about a party bag. Do we still do party bags with sweets and treats in it?
Would it be ok for us to buy books on coding for each of the attendees instead? I don’t know what to think so I’m open to any and all offers of ideas.

The second thing that I am thinking about is what to feed them. Really, I’d like to buy them McDonalds – we have a drive through nearby and I could go get the food and have it here for when they come back from swimming / escape rooming. But I don’t feel great about that. If I had a set of ovens, I’d do pizza here.
It’s just that I can only get three into the oven at once. Perhaps with carrot sticks, cucumber and peppers we could get them eating for long enough to wait for the next batch to come through?
I am conscious that I need to be more organised for this one because I’m flying solo – Mummy Sue will be here as my co pilot as Lovely Bloke and Big Bear are likely to be at a swimming competition. I’d be really grateful for input and thoughts on all of these things. I want it to be a great day for him and one that he and his friends remember for the right reasons. Hit me up with your thoughts. Thank you in advance!
