An instant health boost?

16th May 2017 CambridgeMummy Leave a Comment

In our busy lives we often tend to forget how important our bodies are and our physical health and mental well-being take a back seat. No wonder we end up feeling exhausted after a little work and feel like we have no energy to go through another week. Here are some quick things you can do to give yourself an instant health and happiness boost:

  1. Sip on a cup of hot tea. Drink the tea of your choice everyday and you will reduce the risk of life threatening stroke by 21%. Now isn’t that a good reason to brew a pot of tea for yourself?
  2. Express gratitude. I know from personal experience that this works! It is often said that those who appreciate what they have tend to be much more happier and successful than those who keep complaining. So take a minute everyday to consciously think of the things you are grateful for. A great way to express gratitude to the people in your life is by writing a thank you note, it will not take too long and surely brighten up their day!
  3. Let go of stress. I know that this is hard to do, but when we are stressing about the past, present, or the future, we have two options- either you can do something about it to relieve yourself of the worry, or you cannot. In the second case, worrying sounds ridiculous anyway. Remember to cherish the little moments in life and stress will fade away. Talk to old friends, play bingo games with your buddies, spend time with your family, or pursue a hobby.

It is important that we take care of our health and have these little boosts whenever we end up feeling low, it will not only make us mentally prepared but also revitalise us physically so that we can achieve our highest potential. What do you do to give yourself a boost?
